I was in Venice this week having just sold a modest 2 bedroom, 2 bath, one car garage unit in a complex called Golfvista. The unit looks out onto a front nine tee-box of the Golf Club at Capri Isles. In original condition with vaulted ceilings and an open concept, this unit sold to a Canadian couple for under $100,000. During the peak ( 2005 – 2006 ) this unit would have commanded a price of double that. Excellent deal…especially with the Canadian dollar currently at par with the US dollar.

Since I had some unexpected free time, I simply drove down Capri Isles Boulevard and played at CI’s sister club Waterford Golf Club. This is a 27 hole complex, not far from the beach and downtown Venice. Terrific value to play the “Turnberry Course”…just $15 to walk 9 holes after 3pm. To play in the morning with cart: $75…and after 12 drops to $60. The walking option is only available in the afternoon. As a single, I quickly caught the twosome in front of me who asked me to join them. Played the final six holes with a delightful couple from Switzerland. Six months here, six months there. Nice lifestyle. I will return soon to experience the two additional 9’s…the “Gleneagles Course” and the “Sawgrass Course”.
