In keeping with my promise to play and report on a new golf course every week, I visited Misty Creek just east of I75 off the Bee Ridge extension. I have played this course before, but this is the first time from the tips. Wow. There are some truly tight fairways the further back you go. But the course was tons of fun and in good condition considering its “winter”. The Champion turf-grass greens were fast and true. This is the only golf course in Florida set in a wildlife preserve, bordered on both sides by dense vegetation and live oak forests. My playing partners, my brother Jim and my client Hunter, were both impressed. Not only with the layout, but it is truly rare to play in Sarasota without a view of homes lining the fairways. You are truly in nature here.

Misty Creek, once fully private only a few years ago, is now accepting pay-as-you-play golfers. They have seasonal memberships as well…play all you want for $550 per month. That includes full range use, tennis, all social activities, but cart fees are extra. Play for $55 plus tax in the pm, $10 more before noon.

As for the neighborhood, it is comprised of all single family homes. There are presently 15 for sale ranging from the low $400’s to the high $700’s. Predominantly built in the 90’s, but presently 5 homes offered were built in the 2000’s. Drop me an e-mail to learn more about membership or more about the homes offered for sale.
