Played Waterlefe last Thursday in an intraclub match. “Survive the First Five” is the deserving motto of this course. A very challenging and picturesque track that meanders through nature preserves along the Manatee River. ( East of I75 north of SR 64 ) The course plays at 6150 yards (black’s), or 6427 yards ( blue’s) or 6908 yards (gold’s) for the truly sadistic. This is a semi-private club but only those who live in the community can be a full time member. An excellent value at $325 per month for the single golfer with no initiation of any kind. ( …a limited time offer, however, as the $10,000 initiation fee is currently being waived.) I would consider this a “must play” for the vacationing golfer looking for a serious test of his or her game.
The golf course and River Club are separate entities. If you purchase a home in Waterlefe, your HOA dues cover the cost of The River Club. Right across from the golf course clubhouse, the R.C. complex houses a restaurant, workout center and a well designed pool with tiki bar. Waterlefe is one of the few clubs that offers both golf and boating for the enthusiast who can’t decide between his passions. There is no “on-site” tennis, but Waterlefe has an association with the Tidewater Tennis club, a short drive away.
The housing options are varied. Single family homes in all price ranges, but one can also enjoy condo living or shared wall villa’s. Call or e-mail me for options in all price categories.
