There are currently 33 new construction projects underway or being proposed to the City of Sarasota, per a recent report issued by the coordinator of the Downtown Economic Development Committee. Many of these projects offer mixed use with either commercial or retail on the ground floors and living units above. A majority of these projects are within walking distance to Main Street, which is exhibiting signs of renewed business spirit. In addition, new homes are popping up everywhere.
