I was recently invited to a function at Tara Golf & Country Club and was truly impressed by the now complete club related renovations. New restaurant, pro shop, cart barn, practise putting green…new, new, new. The Southern Plantation style Clubhouse was also restored in 2014. Just a huge upgrade in every respect.
Built in 1988, this Ted McAnlis designed course is a delight to play from any tee-box. In 1997 the course and clubhouse operations were turned over to the membership by the developer. That’s when Tara Golf & Country Club became private and member owned. The course winds through the community which boasts every living style...single family homes, veranda style condo’s, multi story terrace condo’s and paired villas. All in a very affordable range. There are currently 10 condo’s for sale ( from $93k to $239K ) and 9 Single family homes ( from $239k to $389k)
Because property owners automatically become members, this allows for real economic stability. But unlike other bundled communities, Tara is truly private. No outside play. Along with reasonable property options, membership is very affordable. A one time $3,500 capital contribution is followed by modest monthly fees of just $383 per month. That’s terrific private club value for the avid golfer. But Tara boasts much more…a geothermal heated pool, a fully equipped exercise facility with sauna, and tennis court’s lit for night time play.
