Played the Club Course at TPC Prestancia this past Monday. It’s been years since I have experienced it, as I normally get invited to the The Stadium Course…generally considered the more impressive course for members to show off to their guests. The Club Course, designed by Robert Von Hagge and Bruce Devlin, winds through a community called Country Club of Sarasota. It’s tricky, with many doglegs, but is not long. Well under 6,000 yards from the whites. But don’t be mislead…its no pushover.
The Country Club of Sarasota community is far different from that which surrounds the Stadium Course – Prestancia. First off, Country Club of Sarasota is entered from Beneva Road…not through the main gates, as is the TPC community of Prestancia. Once you pass the Serendipity Tennis Club, you enter the neighborhood that contains nothing but single family homes. No condo’s, no shared wall villas or garden homes like TPC. Generally a little older as well…but priced more affordably. A few holes do touch upon the TPC neighborhood Prestancia in Palmer Ranch and the quality, and price, of the homes visibly jump. The point being, there are housing options galore between the two communities if you are interested in joining the TPC family. As for membership, there are too many programs to list…8 at last count. Join this TPC club and get access to all TPC courses throughout the US.
