Played in the annual Realtors Tournament hosted by Lennar Homes on Friday. Our 4 man best-ball team managed a modest 68 (4 under ) but was well off the pace of the 15 under ( !!) shot by this year’s winners. Looks like some in the business are working less than others.
River Strand is a bundled golf community, meaning club membership ( golf, tennis & fitness ) is transferred in the price of the home. This 27 hole Arthur Hills design is surprisingly challenging. Initially, the course appears nondescript. But as you play you realize what a strategic course it really is. From the mid to back tees, this is a truly challenging course. In order to score, you need to put the ball in certain areas in order to get up and down. One would need to take a few rounds to really get to know the course. I absolutely recommend these three nines, which are all in terrific shape.
As for the community itself, this is new construction (2007 and much is currently being built). There are currently over thirty 2 bedroom 2 bathroom condominiums offered for under $180,000. Three bedroom units start at $214,000 and rise to as much as $280,000. And that’s the asking price. The three bedroom units are basically 2 floor town homes as opposed to the 2 bedrooms that are in mid rise condominiums that overlook the Manatee River Nature Preserve.
