Florida’s population is now growing so quickly that the Sunshine State could soon overtake New York as the nation’s third most populous state. Florida’s economic momentum “begins and ends with net in-migration” claims Moody’s Analytics. Florida historically grows its population by 2% per year, more than double the national average of just under 1%. Florida’s 2013 population is estimated at 19.3 million. Two percent growth would mean 386,000 new residents in 2014.
