In an effort to keep current on all the rates and membership opportunities in my real estate area, I sat with Elaine Dexter this Wednesday the 17th. Elaine is the Membership Director of the Plantation Golf & Country Club located at Rockley Boulevard and US41 in Venice. The complex offers two 18 hole Ron Garl designed courses, a racquet club featuring 13 Har-Tru tennis courts , a fitness club and a truly impressive array of social activities for all interests.
Elaine gave me the new membership package which includes four types of membership…Full Golf ( which includes unlimited golf & tennis) Golf Only ( unlimited golf ) Tennis ( unlimited ) and Social. All memberships include unlimited use of the heated junior-Olympic swimming pool, fitness room, clubhouse activities and dining room. The Golf Only Membership is traditionally $32,000 ( $30,000 equity and $2000 initiation ). They are presently offering some excellent incentives including a waiving of the initiation fee, a waiving of the first six months of dues or a no fee financing incentive over 5 years.
As for home choices, there are over 20 different and distinct neighborhoods, mostly of the villa and condo type. There are, however, four areas that offer single family homes…anywhere from the low $300,000’s to the upper $800,000’s in The Reserve. The villas and condo’s are a terrific value…from the low $100,000’s to the mid $200,000’s. Well worth a look for value golf and living in the Venice area.
