With inventory of existing homes remaining tight and buyer demand rising, new home construction was robust in our region. Through the first 10 months of 2013, the 2,581 new residential building permits issued in Sarasota and Manatee Counties were 45% ahead of last year’s pace, and a full 96% higher than those same months in 2011. Builders expect the climb to continue unabated into 2014.
