Per a July 7 article in the Sarasota Herald Tribune, a Naples-based home builder has acquired the 86 remaining home sites at The Founders Club, and has assumed the sales and marketing of the luxury golf community.
The purchase price and terms of the deal between London Bay Homes and The Founders Club Development Co. were not disclosed. London Bay Homes, with operations here in this region at The Lake Club in Lakewood Ranch, also markets Mediterra, another high end golf course community in Naples, which it acquired in December of 2009.
London Bay President Mark Wilson announced that ” The Founders Club is an exceptional community that is well positioned as the real estate market continues to improve.” Wilson noted that The Founders Golf Club’s membership recently bought the remaining golf memberships owned by The Founders Club Development Co. “The Club remains in a strong financial position, and the fact that the club is member owned and managed will further enhance the appeal of The Founders Club with prospective members.”
Sarasota based Signature Sotheby’s will continue to represent the community to prospective buyers. London Bay plans to redesign the community’s existing sales center and will introduce some new home designs and models. The 20 year old company builds houses in the $800,000 to $5 million range in seven luxury communities stretching from Naples to Sarasota.
