Developers of Lakewood Ranch are so confident in their location and the housing market rebound that they have announced a new housing project that will add 800 new homes in the sprawling master-planned community just off University Park east of I75.
I have blogged about this golf course community many times. From the main clubhouse in Country Club Village, one membership allows you to play both Arnold Palmer designed courses and the newer Rick Robbins design. There is a fourth course on the drawing board. For seasonal home owners who cannot yet justify a full 12 month membership, there is the semi-private Legacy Golf Club, also designed by Arnold Palmer, and also a terrific golfing alternative.
The new “Central Park” project is the first subdivision in the area to launch in the last two years. Builders, developers and elected officials expressed confidence that the Neal Communities complex, which will be built on 380 acres, signals market recovery in the area and will encourage market spin off growth.
Lakewood Ranch already boasts 48 square miles to build on . Additional projects like “Central Park” are expected to more than triple the number of homes in LWR over the next 20 to 30 years.
