Those economists who closely watch Florida are convinced that the state will lead the nation’s emergence from the Great Recession. That came after state government reported that the jobless rate in Manatee, Sarasota and Charlotte counties eased again in November, dropping to 6.2%. That marked the lowest reading since the start of the economic slowdown. Additionally, tourism is up, as are retail sales, and manufacturing. All will continue to be strong in 2014. As a destination to live in, invest in, or vacation in, Sarasota is poised for a terrific 2014.
