I will be heading south this week to tour both the Calusa Lake Golf Club (1991) and the surrounding neighborhood of 575 single family homes over 460 wooded acres. My 2007 membership brochure to this semi-private course is in dire need of updating. While there, I will also visit two other associated courses…Capri Isles (1972) and Waterford Golf Club (1989). All three are owned and operated by the same five families. Though the next generation has taken over, this trifecta of courses still offers some of the most affordable golf in the Sarasota / Venice area.
Most homes were built in the 90’s, but some newer ( higher priced ) homes were built in the 2000’s. Starting prices for 2/2’s without pools are in the mid $200’s and the larger homes with pools reach into the $600’s. It’s been a while since I took clients through…so I will take a good look and report back in with a later blog about the course and the housing options. If there’s a golf course community that intrigues you, drop me an e-mail.
