Less than a 1/2 mile east of I75 on State Road 70 in Manatee County sits the Rosedale Golf & Country Club. I toured a nice couple through the community this past Wednesday…and I was reminded just how nice this place is. After you pass through the 24 hour manned gate house, you are welcomed by a beautifully landscaped long entryway of old 80 foot pines and old Oaks. The clubhouse…which has been updated nicely since my last visit…has a huge pool area, workout room, tennis courts and views of the practice facilities through the restaurant gates. Full privilege golf membership presently costs $8700 for a family with yearly dues of just over $5000. The course is a Ted McAnlis design. An additional 9 holes are all mapped out and ready to go…but will likely be delayed until the economy turns.
We were looking for a 2 bedroom + den golf villa. And prices here…like the rest of Sarasota and Manatee Counties… have softened nicely. A truly beautiful unit ( and I mean all decked out…wood floors, central vacuum, thick crown molding ) with a good sized pool and excellent view of the course in the distance ) can be had in the mid to higher $200’s. And these villas are smartly designed. Not only do you get the big golf view, but all villas have one wall with windows above eye level…meaning your side deck and garden area can’t be seen by your neighbor to the left. So you really have two places to dine or sit in the sun or shade…with total privacy.
Just a really nicely designed community, whether you are looking for maintenance-free patio homes or larger single family homes. E-mail me at patrickdoherty@michaelsaunders.com for more information.
