New week, new course. Legacy is now, officially, my favorite semi-private course in the Sarasota area…even surpassing University Park. Designed by Arnold Palmer, Legacy has sand and water on virtually every hole….not to mention grand oaks, towering pines and native grasslands. Golf Digest loves it too. It has been rated 4 1/2 stars on their “Places to Play” list.
What it also has, are affordable golf view condominiums and townhomes right on the course. For my clients who strictly want a winter golf getaway that they can “lock and leave”, this is it. There are three distinct communities. On holes 3 and 4 you pass by Watercrest. These are all 3 bedroom 3 bath condominiums with two car underground parking. They currently range in price from the high $200’s to the low $400’s. Excellent golf and lake views. On the back nine, on holes 14 and 15, you will see the townhomes called Miramar. Some are one floor, some two floors ranging from the $200’s to $300’s. Despite a tough housing climate, new units are still being built. And finally, on holes 16 and 17, you will see Boca Grove, the least expensive, but equally impressive, option. These are all 2 bedroom 2 bath units in the $100’s to low $200’s.
