The Oaks Club just celebrated their 25th anniversary. But more importantly, they just celebrated their tenth anniversary since the members assumed ownership of The Oaks Club from the developer. Since then, the club has grown to a membership of 915…both residential members and non resident “associate” members. Because all residents must join the club, either as a golfer or a social member, The Oaks Club remains one of the most financially stable clubs in the area. In these economic times, it is truly reassuring to know that a golf community of this stature will continue to expand and add to their first class amenities.
As I enter my fifth year as a member, I continue to be amazed by the public perception of the club. Although it is known as one of the top golf communities in Sarasota, many believe that entry level living is very expensive. In fact, one can enter the Oaks in a town home or condominium in the $ 200’s. Sure there are multimillion dollar homes, but truly reasonable and affordable options exist.
