Laurel Oak Country Club…latest Membership Plans
Founded in 1990, Laurel Oak is a private, member-owned, equity club. Located just off Bee Ridge, east of I75 in Sarasota. Laurel Oak boasts 36 holes of championship golf designed by Gary Player in a gated, mature golf course community. I have played both courses many times and refer to them as “East is easy, West is best”. I have had nothing but an exceptional golf experience every time I have played there. I enjoyed this course as a reciprocal when I was a member of The Founders Club, and previous to that, as a member of The Oaks in Osprey.
New membership rates have been announced as of March, 2017. Although there are 4 formal membership categories ( Golf & Tennis / Golf / Tennis / Social ) there is also an Associate Annual Membership. Both Golf & Tennis and Tennis require a one time $18,500 initiation fee payment. Monthly dues for a single golfer are $597 while a family pays $787 per month. Golf & Tennis dues are only modestly higher. An interesting option might be the 1 year membership…for a flat fee of $11,200 ( $12,900 for a family) one can get a nice introduction to the club and its amenities, without the upfront initiation fee.
There are currently 19 homes for sale in Laurel Oak…although home ownership does not obligate you to be a member of the club. Prices in all ranges…$400k to $700k (7)…$700k to $1 million (6) and $1 million to $3 Million ( 6). In the last 6 months there have been 11 sales…with an average selling price of less than $200/square foot. This means there is less than a year’s inventory and prices are very reasonable for such an upscale community.
